The Duncan house is about creating strong geometry and reacting against symmetry and balance. Square but not.
The boundary hasn’t restricted the form of the house. It has made it. It angles as required to suit it’s aspect and orientation. Thus creating unique outlooks and yard spaces for each room. A simple pallete and falling roofline combine to further accentuate the geometric nature of the design. Weathertex weatherboards, with a zero carbon footprint and zero chemical additives, envelope the house. A recessed subfloor design create a cantilevered sensation so the house feels like it is floating and living spaces appear to hover over yards. Literally elevating your senses.
